Rational iVario Not Updating

Issue

When a USB with latest software is inserted in to Rational iVario smart pan, with the software versions LMX-2.7.0 to LMX-2.10.2 installed, it will show the update and either try to go through the update process or restart without the update.

Why you are having issues?

There is a known issue on the software versions LMX-2.7.0 – LMX-2.10.2 where the appliance stores temporary files that fill the memory on the appliance. This does not leave enough storage capacity for the latest update to be processed.

Requirements to fix the issue

• 1 Rational USB sticks (2 preferred)
• CleanErrorSnap software
• Latest Rational iVario software

How to remove the temporary files

To remove the temporary files you will need to download the CleanErrorSnap from Rational, to get this software you will need to Call Rational on 01582 748 474 and ask for the Clean Error Snap emailing to you.

Once you have the zip file, it will contain a file called Commands.json, this will need copying in to the root of your formatted Rational USB stick, with no further software.

Turn off the unit and insert the Rational USB with the Commands.json file, and turn the unit on, do not press anything while the unit is starting up and allow it to go through it's full start-up process. At this point you will not know if the clean-up has successfully completed. You will only know after the next stage.

Now that the clean-up has hopefully completed, download the latest software update from the Rational website format the Rational USB drive and copy the contents of the downloaded zip folder containing the latest update on to the Rational USB drive.

Insert the USB drive in to the USB port on the Rational iVario the appliance will ask you to update to the latest version of the software. Press the green tick, the appliance will restart and if the clean-up was successful the update will complete.
